Mosque Interior Design
Mihrab, minbar, dome ornamentation, chandelier and carpet: a complete renovation of an existing mosque interior.
Problem
The existing mosque’s interior surfaces were worn, the lighting was inadequate and the acoustics were poor.
Work done
The mihrab and minbar were redesigned and hand-painted ornament was applied to the dome and pendentives; acoustic plaster, carpet and a warm lighting scheme were resolved together.
Process
A 5-month implementation planned around the prayer schedule; sermon clarity and lighting comfort achieved.
